Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope. Students will then and prepare a detailed proposal and present to your organization.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the proposal. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Students will deliver an on-line learning tool for your organization along with suggestions for in person training and follow up as appropriate.

Project Examples

Beginning in March, groups of Workplace Development students will spend approx. 20 hours per student designing and creating a customized online course for your organization.

Groups will either collaborate to create five sections of a longer training program, or compete to offer five options for one training session. Each session/section will be 1-3 hours.

Additional project scope may include:

  • Planning workshops
  • Produce training materials
  • Social media & alternative tech implementation

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Provide feedback on student proposals.

Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address student’s questions or provide additional information.

Minimum of 2-4 interactions with the students in-person or remotely (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project).

Be available to attend final presentations either in-person or remotely.
