Corporate social responsibility articulates an organization's purpose, values and concerns for society. This course examines concepts and practical approaches successful companies use to integrate CSR strategies with the needs of business and how they evolve their strategies as needs change. This project will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate skills discovered within industry and present the benefits to sustainability as practiced within the business researched.

Successful groups will present their research to the CSO's which will include their ideation, their selection from the presented criteria, followed by their recommendations.

Project Examples

In utilizing learned CSR principles, students will analyze submitted business challenges and research applicable solutions. Each presented challenge will have two groups of students assessing. The groups are required to brainstorm ideas, create criteria which focuses on the selection of the best presented solution and then provide recommendations. Groups will present their recommendations to the class and instructor, and the group with the strongest recommendations (based on assessment) will submit their written analysis to the civil society organization.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available for two conference calls with the instructor, group lead and regional manager to build your relationship and answer applicable questions as it relates to the scope of the project.
