Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Capilano University to be your interns/co-op students, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period.

This program provides international students with an opportunity to gain work experience that will enhance and complement their academic learning. Students are available for paid or unpaid opportunities within the industry, non-profit, organizations or government.

Students are required to complete 450 hours of full-time placement between (January 2022 to April 2022).

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the internship. However, these deliverables must be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the internship.

Project Examples

Project activities that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategy - Develop an implementation plan for entering a new market; develop a go-to-market strategy for new products or services; identify new funding and grant opportunities and write proposals.
  • Operations - Recommend process improvements or redesign processes; develop improvements to supply chain processes to be more responsive to demand changes; introduce quality assurance into internal processes; redesign incentive structures to improve employee performance and engagement.
  • Marketing - Complete a full customer, competitor, market, and environmental analysis; complete a marketing strategy review; design a new marketing strategy (product, place, price, and promotion).
  • Talent - Design a new/improved recruitment process; develop a diversity and inclusion strategy; design a new/improved employee engagement program.
  • Finance - Design new/improved accounting processes; identify opportunities to streamline costs.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide ongoing support and mentorship to students throughout the internship. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact no less than once a week.

How is your project relevant to the internship?

A representative of the company will be available to answer questions from students in a timely manner for the duration of the project.

A representative of the company will be available for a pre-selection discussion with the administrator of the internship program to review the project scope.
