We are looking for a student who is interested in operations and project management and can work with grants and payroll components. This project is to ensure that all operations related to the organization are running smoothly and efficiently and that all projects are completed within their deadlines.

Phase 1: Training Phase (about 10 hours)

Students will be provided with all the background information and training in terms of the project outline and deliverables over the course of their time with us. Areas that align with our project will focus on research gathering and connecting students with relevant contacts for support.

Phase 2: Project Execution Phase (about 70 hours)

Next year we plan to distribute our glasses through a partner organization. However, we need to reach out to grants and manage the operations leading up to that point. The student will be managing payroll, grants, and projects on Confluence, Jira, and other platforms.

  • Schedule weekly team events that can help with morale
  • Update/Build Notion company home page with hr resources, contact info, other important quick things to check
  • Organize all of the media surrounding Seleste
  • Setup hiring for a hardware engineer
  • Look at if other blindness organizations have investment funds
Mentorship

Onboarding calls with the students to explain the scope of the project and set milestones. There will be weekly check-ins to make sure that the students do not have any questions or concerns. Additional support will be provided on an ad-hoc basis as I am happy to meet if need be. The student will also be able to talk to the other interns for help or advice. The student can also connect to our advisors one of whom is a business advisor who can help make the recommendations and guide the student when doing research. There will also be regular updates that will be provided by the students in terms of their progress.

We will plan to communicate with our virtual intern(s) using phone calls, email and through the company slack.
