Competition: Mchuzi Lodge's e-commerce platform will compete with companies in the hospitality and event management industries, such as:
- Airbnb Experiences: By offering unique accommodations and local activities, Mchuzi Lodge will compete with Airbnb in providing memorable stays and immersive experiences.
- WeddingWire: Mchuzi Lodge aims to compete with WeddingWire by offering comprehensive wedding venue services, customizable packages, and highlighting positive customer experiences.
- Online Travel Agencies (OTAs): Established OTAs like Booking.com and Expedia will be competitors as Mchuzi Lodge provides convenient booking services for accommodations, transportation, and local attractions.
- Requirements Gathering: Learners will need to collaborate with stakeholders from Mchuzi Lodge to understand their specific needs and requirements for the e-commerce platform. This involves conducting interviews, surveys, and workshops to gather relevant information.
- User Experience Design: Learners will be responsible for designing the user experience of the platform. This includes creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize the layout, navigation, and interaction flow. They should focus on making the platform intuitive, visually appealing, and easy to use for customers.
- Platform Development: Learners will need to implement the e-commerce platform based on the defined requirements and design. Mchuzi Lodge is currently focused on serving end tourists and individuals, providing them with lodging needs, including bed and breakfast, conference and wedding venue, and related services. However, we aim to expand our online presence and venture into the e-commerce market. We aim to cater to individuals by providing online bookings and payments for tours, rooms and venues.
We are working on revamping our online platform to provide a seamless user experience for customers. The redesign will incorporate intuitive navigation, visually appealing designs, and enhanced functionality to ensure an engaging journey for our users. Mchuzi Lodge's success and redesigned platform will serve as a blueprint for future expansions. We plan to offer tours, airport shuttles and chauffeur services. The Mchuzi Lodge website would be utilized by local people in Zimbabwe and International tourists or travellers to offer the same user-friendly interface, features, and marketplace functionality to compete with major e-commerce platforms such as Hotels.com or delta-hotels.marriott.com
