Details

yconic is the most trusted source of information, resources and scholarship opportunities for Canadian college and university students. We want to expand the resources we offer to our audience, and to bring new voices to our channels that reflect the current student experience. If you’re a social media savvy Canadian college or university student who can conduct informal research and is familiar with using Google Sheets, you’re who we’re looking for.

With guidance and support from our team, you’ll search for the web for scholarship opportunities, apply for them, and then share your thoughts on the whole process by creating helpful, relatable content for our website and social media. Come flex your organizational muscles and learn from our team of experts while helping to make life a little easier for your fellow students.

Deliverables
  • You will search the Internet for scholarships, bursaries and awards available to Canadian students from colleges and universities, companies, government organizations, etc.
  • Using a provided spreadsheet, you’ll track award details (name, eligibility and application requirements, deadlines, amounts, etc).
  • As you read (and, we assume, apply for some of) these opportunities, you’ll document your experiences and thoughts on how to find and win scholarships.
  • You’ll bring your unique voice to our social media and website by creating relatable, helpful content that will resonate with our student audience.
Mentorship
  • You will be provided with a detailed outline of expectations and a timeline for completion, as well as any spreadsheet or forms required to execute the project.
  • The project lead will be available to you throughout and will provide regular opportunities to ask questions, receive feedback on your work, and request additional support if needed.
  • An overview of scholarships and financial aid will be provided, along with a list of resources to help you find new scholarships.
  • Technical and creative support as needed.
