land registration property management marketing critical thinking researchUpper Edge Property Management manages rental properties for out of town investors and traditionally it is next to impossible to market to these owners, other than social media. We are looking for a student in Winnipeg, Manitoba that can create a list of rental property owners by physically visiting the City of Winnipeg land titles office and conducting searches on their tax records computers.
The scope of this project will entail:
- Meeting with the marketing department to determine target neighborhoods
- Visiting the City of Winnipeg Land Titles office
- Accessing their computer, searching for applicable properties where the owner's address on file is not the same as the property address (thus identifying it as a rental property)
- Enter the results into a spreadsheet
This is a great learning opportunity for a students to get used to working on a research project, have this experience on their resume, as well as learning critical analysis in computer research and search comparisons.
By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:
- Familiarize themselves with accessing public computers
- Create a list of potential rental properties, including the property owner's address, square footage, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, outbuildings such as garages
- Present this list to the Marketing Department for feedback and possible further analysis
Students will work directly with our Marketing Manager. There will be weekly check-in meetings, in addition to Zoom Q&A sessions.
