Our social enterprise startup is "Farmer.Community - by CaribFarm. We are a peer-to-peer digital knowledge sharing community platform for small-scale farmers.
We have plans to scale the Farmer.Community network startup across the Caribbean region and then globally. For our initial launch we have chosen the Caribbean because we have first hand knowledge of the region. Also these small island nations are at the front line of climate change and are most vulnerable to extreme weather.
It would be extremely beneficial to have some insights into what we can anticipate going global - beyond the Caribbean.
We have done a extensive market/user research and have determined proof of concept and are quite confident of the product-market fit.
We will be launching a limited beta version of the digital community network in October to gain industry and user feedback.
To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:
- research into specific markets
- analysis and visualization findings
- report development & writing
- ppt presentation
- Analyze and determine way forward
- Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
- Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
- Also regular progress meetings where adjustments to the students' tasks and duties can be made if necessary.
- Provide students with access to existing research
