Our team knows that many tree processor operators speak French and may struggle with technical documents written in English only. We want our new machines to be accessible for French-speaking individuals by translating written technical documents and how to guides into French.
Students will be responsible for translating technical documents relating to tree processing from English into French. Documents include an operator's manual, installation guides (x2) and troubleshooting guide.
Students will need to have access to a personal computer with sufficient hard-drive space.
Students will need to have fluent French & English proficiency.
Students will have direct email, phone and messaging access to the project manager. Students will have access to other members of the Axis Forestry team such as Engineers for clarification on documents as required. Industry information will be provided to students as needed. Students will be part of the team while completing this project.
Students will receive practical experience respective to translation of technical documents, letter of reference/recommendation and potential for future contract work as our need for translation is anticipated to be intermittent and ongoing.
