software design playtesting user interface testing design tool user interface prototyping user experience (ux) design user interface (ui) design user experience (ux) figma (design software) researchOur company would like to design and build a prototype for a desktop application version of our current SAAS product. We currently have a working Alpha version of our product and would like to refine user journey for the next development sprint.
We would like an intern(s) to design a prototype application for our current web based product.
This will involve:
- Conduct background research of existing web application for the product.
- Identify key areas of our current product and how they might translate to a mobile application.
- Learn and use various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as it is the latest and greatest tool currently available.
- Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a SAAS.
By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:
- Familiarize themselves with our existing product.
- Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it work. We strongly recommend Figma.
- Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a prototype of our product.
- Present the final design screens to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.
Bonus steps would include:
- Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this.
Final deliverables should include:
- A click-through prototype that supports customer journey
- The design screens and all assets in a shareable format
- Documentation of research and recommendations
- Design bible of UI/Material specs used
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project.
We will support interns:
- with weekly check ins and meaningful communication
- by providing resources for product onboarding and knowledge building
- mentorship and access to industry experts for consultation
- co-created tasks that align with personal strengths
