Details

Our company would like to design and build a prototype for a desktop application version of our current SAAS product. We currently have a working Alpha version of our product and would like to refine user journey for the next development sprint.

We would like an intern(s) to design a prototype application for our current web based product.

This will involve:

  • Conduct background research of existing web application for the product.
  • Identify key areas of our current product and how they might translate to a mobile application.
  • Learn and use various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as it is the latest and greatest tool currently available.
  • Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a SAAS.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Familiarize themselves with our existing product.
  • Familiarize themselves with a design tool of their choosing and understand how it work. We strongly recommend Figma.
  • Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a prototype of our product.
  • Present the final design screens to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this.

Final deliverables should include:

  • A click-through prototype that supports customer journey
  • The design screens and all assets in a shareable format
  • Documentation of research and recommendations
  • Design bible of UI/Material specs used
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project.

We will support interns:

  • with weekly check ins and meaningful communication
  • by providing resources for product onboarding and knowledge building
  • mentorship and access to industry experts for consultation
  • co-created tasks that align with personal strengths
