research community health project planningAre you interested in engaging with the new generation of Health Care workers?
The Community Health program from Arizona State University develops leaders who are dedicated to addressing health challenges at their source while also creating public and private partnerships to leverage resources. By creating a community-wide response to these challenges, we can better advocate for patients and provide educational opportunities for people of all backgrounds. If you have a health-related problem that you need to fix, bring on one or more ASU students to be your interns!
Students are available for 120 hours of placement over 15 weeks, beginning Sept 2020.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually. This is a for-credit experience.

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project and will be confirmed by educator, student, and partnering organization prior to approval.

Project Examples
Requirements
Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete. Providing a central project creates the structure for the internship, and gives the student (and organization) a tangible goal.
Project examples that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop health education for communities or schools.
- Develop an Emergency Response Plan
- Implement a Corporate Wellness Initiative
- Analysis and evaluation of programs and services.
- Program planning and implementation strategies.
Program areas of emphasis:
- Advocacy for diverse individuals, families, and communities
- Understand the components of a healthy, sustainable community
- Provide health education, health promotion, and care coordination
- Identify resources available from community and public health services
- Complex health care systems
ASU Community Health internship students are knowledgeable, reliable, and versatile. If you have an internship position to offer, please submit your project page to this posting and it will be reviewed by Caryn Unterschuetz.
