Heat Transfer and Thermal Design

MAE 589

Feb 14, 2025 - Apr 23, 2025

MAE 589 Heat Transfer is a graduate mechanical engineering class taken by master's and PhD students, usually from mechanical engineering but also from aerospace engineering and other disciplines. These students have generally had an undergraduate course on the same material, so they come into the class already with basic skills in heat transfer. They are capable of conducting analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA) using Ansys or other packages, and designing thermal solutions as a part of product development or other engineering applications.

Computer Science & Computer Engineering Capstone Fall 2024

Flexible

Is there a "nice-to-have" project that you never seem to have the bandwidth for? The ASU Computer Science and Computer Systems programs are accepting proposals for Capstone Projects!Small Teams of graduating senior CS and CSE students will work with you to complete your project over the next 2 semesters. This can help you grow your business, recruit talented workers, train future managers in a low risk environment, and it helps our students develop the professional and development skills they need to start their careers! Find more information at: http://links.asu.edu/CSE_Capstone Since this is a Unpaid Internship, there is a charge if the project is selected . This money is used to support the costs for the student Showcase where students are able to display what they have been doing for the last 2 semesters. We have set this up through a foundation so you can use it as a tax write off ( gets reported as a donation ). Examples from the Spring 2024: https://showcase.asucapstone.com/

User-Centric Product and Experience Design

HSE 521

Feb 1, 2025 - May 1, 2025

This experience immerses learners in the principles and practices of Human Systems Engineering, focusing on user experience enhancement through psychology-based research. Participants will develop skills in identifying user needs, creating intuitive information architectures, and evaluating user interfaces. By applying these skills, learners can contribute to projects by conducting user research, performing usability tests, and integrating user feedback into product design, ultimately producing a prototype of a redesigned product.

Family/Human Development & Sociology Capstone Experience Sp2025

Flexible

Master's students from the T. Denny Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics gain knowledge and skills necessary to promote successful relationships and positive outcomes for individuals, families, and communities across the life-span. Graduates often pursue careers working with children, youth, and adults in human, social and government agencies. In this experience students will delve into their area(s) of interest, developing a greater depth and understanding of topics that influence children, youth, and families, and that further the student's academic and professional goals. Capstone 3 students need to complete at least 40 hours of hands on experience that relates to their interests and their field of study. These hours must be completed during a 6-7 week-long capstone course. Students can complete these projects as individuals or teams . We have Capstone every semester (spring, summer, and fall).

Experience feedback
Dear Feedback Team I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude and provide feedback on our recent collaboration with the students at Arizona State University for SEBA’s Student Leadership Production project. Working with the ASU students was an incredibly rewarding experience. Their eagerness to learn, coupled with their passion for creating meaningful outcomes, truly stood out. Beyond their academic enthusiasm, they demonstrated exceptional creativity, insight, and a genuine interest in building a strong partnership with our nonprofit organization. Throughout the podcast production, the students asked thoughtful, well-crafted questions and approached each step with curiosity and professionalism. Their ability to engage, adapt, and contribute meaningfully made the collaboration both productive and inspiring. This experience has reaffirmed the immense value of fostering partnerships between academic institutions and community-focused initiatives like SEBA. I’m excited about the potential for future collaborations and the positive impact we can continue to create together. Thank you for supporting such talented students and for enabling opportunities that bridge education, leadership, and community engagement. I am looking forward to future projects with ASU!
