newsletters health impact assessments researchTeacher Care Now Foundation is a nonprofit focused on providing teachers with health & wellness resources and support. We want to improve the health & wellness of teachers in order to help them manage the stress, burnout, and other health problems that may come along with their long workweeks and overwhelming responsibilities. In doing this we want to help increase teacher retention and recruitment.
We would like to collaborate with students to develop and distribute a newsletter promoting our cause.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Conducting background research on the cause.
- Brainstorming sections that each newsletter will include.
- Developing topics for each issue based on seasonal events.
- Creating 12 newsletters including materials to be published and making revisions based on feedback.
- Proofreading drafts of newsletters and recommending areas for improvement.
Bonus steps in the process would also include:
- Recommending other ways to increase awareness about our cause.
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of the cause
- Recommendations for relevant topics to write about
- Creation of materials to be published and revisions based on feedback
- Recommendations for areas of improvement
Bonus steps would include:
- Exploring other ways of improving awareness
Final deliverables should include
- Newsletters.
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:
- Our organization’s mission and goals
- Our awareness campaigns
- Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
I will:
Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.
Provide relevant information/data as needed for the project.
Be a dedicated contact person who is available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address students' questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.
Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Be available for at least 2 follow-up meetings with the students to monitor progress, clarify doubts, and answer questions.
