Hello, My name is Abdulrahman Hassan.
I'm currently a first year engineering student at McMaster University, and have worked with various softwares such as Autodesk Inventor, Granta EduPack, python, and more. At McMaster, I have actively participated in numerous design projects, where I assumed a leadership role in taking the projects from concept to production. I ensured that the final product met all technical specifications, was within budget constraints and was completed within the set timeline.

Aside from my technical expertise, I am also a strong communicator and team player. I believe that effective communication is key to delivering quality designs, and I am always open to feedback and suggestions from my colleagues.

Overall, I am passionate about design engineering and am excited to apply my skills and experiences.

Business Strategy Development

Our team has noticed that our product development and operational processes are not as efficient as they have the potential to be. We want to simplify these processes to make them more β€œlean” in order to make them less costly and more adaptable to customer feedback at a fast pace. In this project, students will focus on evaluating our operations and identifying internal issues that are causing processes to be too timely or costly. Mapping out operational processes using Business Process Model Notation and notation (BPMN), and evaluating each step and the resources it consumes. Identifying bottlenecks in our operational processes. Researching solutions to each unique problem identified in the mapping process. Creating a proposal with recommendations for improvements and an implementation plan for how we would incorporate the solutions. Creating a second BPMN model of operational processes with the proposed solution(s).

Personal projects

Gear Mechanism
January 2023 - January 2023

Designed a gear mechanism, to be attached to a baseplate, which is responsible for lifting a hopper mechanism via the use of a rotary actuator. Using Autodesk Inventor, I was able to create individual parts and constraint them together in an assembly containing the hopper mechanism in order to construct the full mechanism.
