My name is Katie, I'm a student at the University of Waterloo studying Global Business and Digital Arts, with a particular focus on UX/UI design and digital marketing. I'm an avid learner, always looking for new opportunities to grow my skillset. I'm a student, entrepreneur, former national athlete, and I'm always up for a challenge, whether it be academic, or in the workplace.
I've completed two Google career certificates, one for UX design and one for AI applications in the workplace. I'm also currently completing a LinkedIn Learning certificate for Workplace Communications, along with my studies toward my Ba with a minor in psychology. My work experience is also extensive, with 3 years of leadership and customer service experience with McDonald's Canada, the (almost) two years spent developing my small business and client base through in-person and social media promotion, and my position as a Residence Embassador for the University of Waterloo.
My most valuable skills are organization, and my excellent time-management skills. I'm also a very punctual and well spoken individual, with plenty of experience communicating with others in professional, formal, and personal contexts. - Portals

During late 2023, I had the opportunity to start and develop my own entrepreneurial venture - Skatie's Skraps Crochet. I sold high-quality crocheted clothing, decor, and accessories around Southern Ontario to a wide customer base. I gained experience with Shopify platforms, designed my own website, built my social media following and expanded my client base. Although I'm currently on a break from my markets right now for school, Skatie's Skraps is a well-established small business name in Guelph and surrounding areas.
