Bio

My love of programming grew out of my childhood obsession with seeing how things are made and how they work. My first real experience with programming was when I enrolled in Computer Science class in high school, building applets using JavaScript. I took to it immediately and ended up getting the Grade 11 Computer Science Award that year.

Since then, I have studied and practiced a number of disciplines, including Visual Arts, Acting, Music Composition, and Photography – I’m a lifelong learner and polymath. In 2017, I completed a robust Web Development course on Udemy, and ended up working as a Freelance Web Developer on and off for over 5 years while part-timing as an instructor of JavaScript and Visual Arts.

Wanting to turn my love of coding and Web Development into a stable full time career, I enrolled into Lighthouse Labs Web Development Bootcamp, where I had the pleasure of immersing myself in an intensive learning experience, which helped me to update and bolster my existing knowledge and skills.

As a software developer, I strive to use my eclectic interests by applying their philosophies and principles in creative ways to help me solve coding problems and develop intuitive, engaging, and efficiently built products.

Eric is a quick choice for any position that needs leadership, organization, communication, initiative, and mentorship. He has no problem leading and solving anything you throw at him, is well liked by those around him, and never flinches to help even coders with far lower skill who have a desire to learn. He is a gem, that any employer would dream of having and fear losing. I would write him a reference letter to any coding or leadership position in a heartbeat. I sincerely appreciated his time working for YourBeat.

Team feedback
WOW!! Eric stood out from the very start, showing initiative in absolutely everything he did, laying out plans, Ideas, and suggestions from the very first step to beyond the last step. Eric was universally chosen by his team mates (not by my demand but definitely by my approval) to be lead. Several times by multiple members of his team I was approached both in private and in public meetings to request that Eric be made Team Lead, simple because he already was leading already. I completely agreed with the team's judgement and after asking Eric informally promoted him to team lead. He excels at communication, cooperation, organization, AND coding ability as well. He was a natural choice to be lead and I hope he stays with YourBeat. If/when he moves on he will be definitely given a glowing review and reference from me.
