The course will build upon basic economic theory and mathematical concepts to focus on topics such as: static/equilibrium analysis, comparative statics, unconstrained and constrained optimization, and applications involving uncertainty and strategic behavior.Projects with a focus on environmental sustainability and policies are of special interest.

The result? A comprehensive evaluation of vendors and a top alternative recommendation.

However, the cost-benefits of these environmental initiatives are difficult to evaluate. This course aims to provide the skills to understand and assess these issues by helping students learn the critical elements of environmentally responsible supply chain management. The tools and skills related to green/environmental design, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and services in supply chain operations. A category analysis answers questions about the short- and long-term availability and cost for the category. The other aspect of the project is about supplier evaluation and selection process. This includes developing an appropriate metric for supplier selection for example financial health of the supplier, best practices, cost, quality and delivery history of the supplier. Based on these aspects, the vendors can be evaluated and a best alternative can be suggested.

Students would research and assess the problem, research best practices or generate new ideas, and make recommendations.A project will be completed by a team of 4 students. 10 weeks, beginning April 1, 2022.
